Quasars Confirm the Bible

Job 38:

"Where is the way to the dwelling of light? And.. where is its place, that you may take it to its territory And that you may discern the paths to its home?

Jeremiah 33:

Thus says the Lord, 'If My covenant for day and night stand not, and the fixed patterns of heaven and earth I have not established, then I would reject the descendants of..David My servant, not taking from his descendants a rulers over the descendants of Abraham (Messiah's future reign)."

Light-years are only a measure of distance. A light-year is the distance that light travels in a vacuum in one Julian year (365.25 days). It is a unit of length, not time.

(See light time problem by Dr Danny Faulkner of Answers in Genesis.)

For light, light-years is also a measure of time. Light travels at a constant speed in a vacuum, regardless of the observer. So, if you see light from a star that is 10 light-years away, that means that the light left the star 10 years ago.

Light-years are a measure of distance, not time. However, you can use light-years to measure time indirectly.

Astronomers have observed over one million quasars. The observation of over one million quasars has revolutionized our understanding of the universe. Quasars are some of the most distant and brightest objects in the universe, and they can be used to study a wide range of astrophysical phenomena, including the development of  galaxies, the formation of supermassive black holes, and the expansion of the universe.

One of the most important discoveries that has been made using quasars is that the universe is expanding (link: per the bible) at an accelerating rate. This discovery was made in 1998 by two teams of astronomers who were studying the brightness of quasars at different distances. The astronomers found that the most distant quasars were fainter than expected, which could only be explained by an accelerating universe.

Another important discovery that has been made using quasars is that supermassive black holes are extremely common at the centers of galaxies. Maybe ours was once a Quasar.

Quasar jets are powerful beams of matter and energy that are ejected from the supermassive black holes at the centers of quasars. They can travel at speeds of up to 99.9% the speed of light.

There are two main theories about how quasar jets are launched and accelerated to such high speeds.

The first theory is that the jets are powered by the magnetic field of the supermassive black hole. As matter falls into the black hole, it is magnetized and then accelerated along the magnetic field lines. This creates a jet of plasma that is ejected from the black hole at high speed.

Quasar jets can be billions of light-years long and can carry a tremendous amount of energy. They are thought to play an important role in the development of galaxies by shaping the surrounding gas and dust.

In some cases, quasar jets can appear to travel faster than light. This is an optical illusion caused by the fact that the jets are moving towards us at very high speed. As a result, the light from the jets is bunched up, making the jets appear to be longer than they actually are.

However, it is important to note that quasar jets cannot actually travel faster than light. The speed of light is the universal speed limit and nothing can travel faster than it.

How do we know that quasar jets travel at near light speed?

Astronomers have used a variety of methods to measure the speed of quasar jets. One method is to use Doppler spectroscopy. Doppler spectroscopy is a technique that can be used to measure the speed of an object by measuring the shift in the wavelength of its light.

Astronomers have determined that quasar jets can travel at speeds of up to 99.9% the speed of light. This is a truly remarkable feat, and it is still not fully understood.

Quasars are ideal for use as cosmic clocks, as they allow us to study the distant universe and measure how it has changed over time.

There are two main ways in which quasars can be used as clocks.

By using quasars as clocks, astronomers have been able to infer the age of the universe, the expansion rate of the universe and dark energy in the universe.

Dark energy is fine tuned to one chance in 10^120 tries. This physicist says, "nobody thinks this was just luck." Quasars are also being used to study the development of galaxies and the formation of supermassive black holes.

Quasars are powerful tools for studying the universe, and their use as cosmic clocks is helping us to learn more about the development of the universe and the fixed fundamental laws of physics (Jer 33 above).

Quasars often emit jets of material from their nuclei. These jets can be thousands, tens of thousands or even millions of  light-years long. The jets are thought to be formed by the accretion process, and they can carry a lot of energy.

Here are some photos of quasars with extended plasma jets:

  • Centaurus A: Centaurus A is the closest radio galaxy to Earth, and it has two jets that extend for over 1 million light-years.

  • 3C 273: 3C 273 is one of the brightest quasars in the sky, and it has two jets that extend for over 200,000 light-years.

  • PKS 0637-752: PKS 0637-752 is a quasar that is known for its extremely long jets. The jets extend for over 500,000 light-years, which is more than twice the length of the Milky Way galaxy.

  • Hercules A

The plasma jets emanating from the galaxy Hercules A extend for over one million light-years. This makes them some of the longest known jets in the universe.

These are just a few examples of quasars with lengthy jets. There are many other quasars that have jets that are even longer. Quasar jets are an important part of the development of galaxies, and they can help to shape the intergalactic medium.

As the psalmist says,

Psalms 19:

"The heavens are telling of the glory of God, And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands. Day to day pours forth speech, And night to night reveals knowledge."

All Astronomers do is, "night after night" study this "knowledge."
