Freewill Salvation

The concept of salvation in the Bible is multifaceted, with different perspectives presented throughout its texts. Here are 15 verses that touch upon the aspect of human free will in relation to salvation:

  2. Joshua 24:15: "But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve."

  3. Isaiah 1:19-20: "If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good things of the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword."

  4. Jeremiah 21:8: "And to this people you shall say: 'Thus says the Lord: Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.'"

  5. Ezekiel 18:31-32: "Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord God. Turn, and live!"

  6. Ezekiel 33:11: "Say to them, 'As I live, declares the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?'"

New Testament

  1. Matthew 11:28: "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

  2. John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

  3. John 5:40: "Yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life."

  4. Acts 2:21: "And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

  5. Romans 10:9-10: "Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."

  6. Romans 10:13: "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

  7. 2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."

  8. Revelation 3:20: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me."

  9. Revelation 22:17: "The Spirit and the Bride say, 'Come.' And let the one who hears say, 'Come.' And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price."
